MONTREAL, Sep 27, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Valsoft, a Montreal-based company specializing in the acquisition and development of software companies in the vertical market, is pleased to announce its acquisition of ALDATA Software Management Inc. (ALDATA ), a leader in business software solutions for the forest industry.
Founded in 1991 by Mike Meagher, an Alberta forestry entrepreneur, ALDATA’s end-to-end software suite for managing raw material supply chains builds on knowledge gained over two decades of service forestry companies. From industry-specific contract management to streamlined balance management and automated payment processing, ALDATA’s systems are renowned for improving the operations of pulp mills, sawmills, lumber managers, pellet producers and bioenergy plants in North America and Australia.
“I started ALDATA 26 years ago because there was simply no software available to handle the unique business needs of the forest industry,” said Meagher, Founder and CEO of ALDATA. “I was proud to see our software grow and adapt to make it easier for our customers, large and small, to support their systems and data. I was sincerely delighted that ALDATA joined the Valsoft team as they share our long term commitment and passion to help our clients achieve their goals through innovation and service.
“We see ALDATA as a trusted technology partner in the forestry sector with a strong market share and a culture that puts the customer first,” said Stéphane Manos, co-founder and head of mergers and acquisitions at Valsoft. “Prior to the acquisition, I was impressed to see how a relatively small company had already managed to serve some of the biggest players in its niche, and I was confident that Valsoft’s resources would allow ALDATA to grow even further. . ”
Sam Youssef, CEO of Valsoft, announced that Mike Meagher will gradually focus on sales and remain ALDATA’s valuable advisor during the transition period to ensure seamless integration. ALDATA’s key personnel will remain in place to provide ongoing expert service and support to its clients.
The acquisition of ALDATA is Valsoft’s second foray into the industrial software sector. In May 2017, Valsoft acquired Creative Information Systems (CIS), a scale management software powerhouse for aggregate, recycling, waste management and agricultural industrial applications. “Each of our companies continues to operate independently, while relying on the know-how, skills and contacts of Valsoft to carve a head start in industrial applications, particularly in management software. of scale, ”concluded Manos. “This is an extremely exciting industry, rich in opportunity, in which we plan to invest tens of millions of dollars in the near future.”
